SHOPS OPEN DURING LIBRARY HOURS

We’re Back! For over 50 years, the Charity Christmas Card Shops have provided an opportunity for people to support their favourite charities simply by buying Christmas cards. This year, the volunteer-run shops will once again give 100% of card sales to over 35 charities, local and national, including health, children’s charities, medical research and animal charities.

Founded in 1971, the Christmas Card Shops have raised more than £6 million for local charities. The shops are open annually from late October to early December, and carry a wide selection of Christmas cards, wrapping paper, tags, and other Christmas gifts and novelties. Each charity represented in the shops provides volunteers to help operate the shops, with all proceeds from their sales going directly back to support their important work in the community.

“The Combined Charities Christmas Card Shops are a fixture of the community and embody the spirit of giving during the holidays,” said Sheila Hallas MBE, founder. “For decades, residents have supported their favourite causes simply by purchasing greeting cards and gifts. Thanks to the generosity of our customers and volunteers, we have been able to raise millions of pounds for charities and make a meaningful impact.”
